BRAZOS VALLEY GIVES

LEE CHAPEL FOOD PANTRY - Bryan

About this Organization

Lee Chapel Church Food Pantry is an outreach of Lee Chapel Church. Lee Chapel Church was founded over 152 years ago. Lee Chapel Food Pantry was founded 30years ago. The need was seen by the church because most of the residents that live in the area are below the poverty level. A program named "Share the Joy" was incorporated with the pantry. Share the Joy made sure people that were referred by schools and other organizations would have food for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Share the Joy no longer exist because the church lacked resources to continue. The monthly food pantry stayed open with the partnership of the Brazos Valley Food Bank. Lee Chapel food Pantry has a winter coat and blanket drive for November for adults and we have one in December called Coats for Kids and distributed100 new coats and 50 blankets and comforters for kids in December 2023. We also distribute new and gently used clothes every month. We serve everyone from Brazos, Milam, Robertson, Burleson and all surrounding counties. Lee Chapel Food Pantry delivers to the sick and the elderly without transportation. The poverty level in Brazos is greater than we assume, and we want to do our part in making life easier for those in need. Lee Chapel food Pantry has distributed food for more than5,385 individuals and we still have four months left in 2024.
