Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley

  • What is a Community Foundation?

Community Foundations are tax-exempt public charities with a common goal of improving the quality of life in the geographic areas they serve. Community Foundations are funded by individuals, families, corporations, and nonprofits that create short-term and permanent charitable funds to help meet needs within a given region. Overseen by a volunteer board of community and business leaders, community foundations invest and administer these funds for the benefit of area nonprofits and community needs. There are more than 34 community foundations in Texas and more than 750 across the United States.

  • About the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley

Founded in 2003, the Community Foundation strengthens the Brazos Valley through philanthropy by enhancing the quality of life in the communities it serves by partnering with donors and businesses to establish charitable endowment funds that provide long-term support for nonprofits and community needs. The Foundation works with charitably minded individuals, families, and businesses to establish donor-advised funds and other charitable endowments to fulfill personal giving goals and legacy desires. The Foundation also strengthens nonprofits through grants and stewards agency endowments -- with the ultimate goal of ensuring a sustainable nonprofit community now and into the future.
