BRAZOS VALLEY GIVES

Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra

About this Organization

The Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra was created in 1981 through the merger of two smaller community music organizations: the Brazos Symphony Orchestra, and the Bryan-College Station Chamber Orchestra. This merger additionally created the Brazos Valley Symphony Society, a non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Texas to develop, establish and maintain the symphony as an organization of high artistic standards. Each season, the orchestra performs five classical subscription concerts, a Holiday Pops Concert, two children's concerts, and a free outdoor performance in front of the George H.W. Bush Library and Museum as part of a community Independence Day Celebration. The orchestra and its support guild - FASO - also present educational outreach in the schools, conduct the Brazos Valley Youth Concerto Competition, and provide an award-winning Symphony Belle program for young ladies who are Juniors and Seniors in High School to learn social, etiquette, and service skills. To support all of these cultural and educational programs, the BVSO depends upon fundraisers as well as general donations from generous donors like YOU who share in the belief that MUSIC MATTERS for our society, our community, and for generations to come!
