About this Organization

As a whole, our organization provides the following services:
● Local Resource Research- This included finding programs specifically for the client/family that we are serving. Examples include Health & Human Services benefits, Child Support Information, Learning Options & Support via the local school districts, Home Rental Assistance, Electricity Payment Assistance, etc.
● Outreach & Safe Haven Speaking- Offering services to clients/families that are leaving domestic/sexual abuse situations and providing them with local resources to be able to comfortably speak about their possible trauma.
● Partnering with other organizations to continue the mission of spreading information to the underserved/ low-income populations in our community.
○ This includes but is not limited to providing tangible resources such as a backpack drive, school supplies to teachers, and hygiene kits to schools for children who may not have access to those normally.
● Creating a Client Closet- This is a rented storage space that we utilize to help our clients have the basic necessities. I.E: Paper Products, Baby Items (Diapers, Wipes, body care products), Feminine Hygiene items, and body care products. Clients are able to "Shop" the closet based on a needs assessment form and on a once-a-quarter basis.
● Facebook Support Group- This is a large portion of the population that we serve and that also supports our mission to give back. This Facebook Page was created to essentially be a social media line of support for those in the community who don't typically have access to the internet or even know how to allocate resources on their own.
○ The Facebook Support Page is essentially a "free" group where citizens, clients, and supporters can list a need and someone else in the community fills it. At times, we as the organization will assist with things such as securing a donation from someone who isn't physically capable of delivering or lifting a donation and then providing it to the intended recipient.
○ We may also assist with doing an intake and providing the person in need with the resources listed above.
● Holiday- Our intention is to ensure that children in our community, no matter their demographic situation, are able to celebrate most major holidays in our area.
○ Easter is one of the biggest holidays for this community and we host an Annual Egg Hunt that is entirely free to those that attend. The initial event in 2022 supported about 400 people. The 2023 Egg Hunt had about 600 people of all ages and again was free of charge.
○ Christmas being the next biggest holiday and how BVB was created, has been in function since 2020. It has grown from serving 24 families to about 150 children by 2022 and is supporting on average about 400 children in 2021 & 2022.

How do we fund this?
BVB is supported by the community that it serves. As cliche as that may sound, it is in fact the truth. Since the concept of the organization was created, the majority of the funding comes from crowdfunding, profit share events with local businesses, and also applying for local grants and sponsorships. We host an annual fundraising gala every winter to raise money for our Christmas holiday events. We work with local businesses to support our Back to School & Easter holiday celebrations.

As of 2023, we were able to secure a grant to be allocated to the organization. One of the reasons we were able to receive this grant is because we partner with Youth to help run the organization. They have the power, say and Antony me to participate in decision making. At this time, we do not officially have anyone on staff and are supported by almost 100% volunteerism from the founder, board members, and community members.

Our goal currently is twofold- expand into other counties to help continue growth and not cause a burden for others to travel to our Client Closet in Bryan. Our next annual goal is to raise $40,000 to help us fund our holiday giveback in 2023.

Share this organization to invite others to give.
