In 2020, we noticed a lot of families struggling with providing for their families due to job losses and illness related to the pandemic. Our plan was to offer healthy Thanksgiving meals to as many families as possible and to support local Brenham businesses suffering due to the pandemic, by involving local restaurant owners and other community oriented people to help in that process. We reached out to families in the school district, Boys and Girls Club and other organizations, who would most benefit from this program. We reached out to three different local restaurant owners to help with providing the meals and we put together 66 meals for 66 families and handed them out or delivered them to all the families. All the food was donated by the participating restaurants, LJ's BBQ and Country Sunshine. In 2021 we decided to raise money locally so that we could provide even more families with Thanksgiving meals. We raised $7K which allowed us to provide 105 families with delicious Thanksgiving meals.
