Brazos County Crime Stoppers provides a 24-hour hotline 979-775-TIPS (8477), a Web site for Web tips (brazoscountycrimestoppers.org), and a free mobile app (P3) to encourage citizens in the community to volunteer vital information helpful to law enforcement agencies to fight against crime. Anyone who sends or calls in a tip will remain anonymous and may receive a reward for a tip that leads to an arrest.

Since our inception in November 1981, our partnership has led to the receipt of almost 23,000 tips, the arrest of 2,991 individuals, and almost $4 million dollars in property and drugs recovered. We have authorized rewards payments of over $500,000 total, across more than 2,100 tipsters. Of the 4,530 fugitives listed in our "Most Wanted" we've resolved approximately 85% of those cases. Moving forward we are anticipating using the funds raised through Brazos Valley Gives, in part, to finance the creation and delivery of crime prevention and awareness programs within our community.

In addition to our community program, in August 2018, we began providing local public schools the P3Campus app service. This service, in keeping with the recommendation of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, in his School Safety Plan, allows students to provide anonymous tips to campus administration and local law enforcement about crimes and school violations. The type of behavior that students are encouraged to report include bullying and cyber-bullying, concern for student depression or self-harm, truancy, drug use and sales, violence or threats of violence, cheating, and more. To date, we have received over4600 reports from schools resulting in opportunities to stop bullying, incidents of self-harm, threats of harm to the school, and drug use and sales, thus preventing an untold number of other incidents. Brazos County Crime Stoppers will also pay rewards similar in amount to those paid to adult community members, for tips about criminal offenses leading to an arrest. Campus Crime Stoppers Program promotes school spirit, pride, and responsibility and allows students to take action against victimization and crime in their schools.

Providing the P3Campus app is just the first step in our efforts to help prevent crime in our schools. The money raised through Brazos Valley Gives will help us continue to provide this service for free to the school as well as the provision of educational programming in schools about the prevention of bullying, cyber safety, dating violence and sexual assault, human trafficking, and more. Additionally, we will use funds to create campus crime-stoppers programs in schools. Campus Crime Stoppers programs are student-led programs with the mission of preventing and solving crime and other incidents in the schools. These programs provide crime prevention presentations, take anonymous tips, and give rewards for incidents resolved.
