BRAZOS VALLEY GIVES

A Hopeful Harvest

About this Organization

Our ministry originated from training provided by the Episcopal Health Foundation. Our mission was to move away from transactional outreach to community engagement. The REACH Project, Santa Teresa Catholic Church, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, the Aggie Men's Club and community volunteers worked with Brazos Valley Food Bank to start Brazos Mobile Food Pantry. The Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley shared their location. On one Saturday per month for the past two years we've provided 50-75 lbs. of food to 400 food insecure households. With the faithful support of students, religious groups, community service volunteers and civic groups we've served over 2,500 local families. A Hopeful Harvest was established so that we may become a partner agency of Brazos Valley Food Bank. We will open a Brick-and-Mortar Pantry in Bryan and continue to serve our neighbor's needs.
