Mentoring matters to me because I've witnessed firsthand the power that lies in pulling a kid aside to let him or her know that you care about them and that you want to support them, even if their problems are bigger than what you're able to help with. And that's what Big Brothers Big Sisters does - they connect kids in need with caring mentors who are there to listen and offer support and of course have fun on a regular basis. I firmly believe that one individual can change the course of a kid's life so that's why mentoring matters to me and why Big Brothers Big Sisters matters to me.
