Fundraiser Story

The Pruitt-Sadberry Family Search Program is my latest love at the Brazos Valley African American Museum.  I became curious about my family history and through the Pruitt-Sadberry Family Search Program and the program volunteers, I am learning more than I could have ever imagined about my maternal and paternal ancestry.  And it's FREE!  Your donation is "A Golden Opportunity" to help the Brazos Valley African American Museum seek out and secure other permanent programs and activities!

About the Organization

It was the brain child of retired educator, Mrs. Mell Pruitt and became officially recognized and functioning in 1999. The museum opened its doors on July 22, 2006. The mission of the African American National Heritage Society is to explore, develop, preserve and present the cultural history and heritage of African Americans.
