Blackjack VFD is a small rural volunteer fire department that has seen increased fires, accidents and other calls for service in our community. We have limited funding but are expected to respond to calls to help protect our community whenever we receive the call for help. As volunteers we have committed to put our lives on the line to help save others in their time of need and on their worst days. We need your help and support to be able to purchase new equipment, a utility truck and ultimately a new engine so we can be better equipped to serve our community and reduce fire damage. You can make a huge difference by supporting our volunteer Hero's to be able to help others in their time of need.

The Mission of the Blackjack Volunteer Fire Department is to save lives and protect property. The Blackjack Volunteer Fire Department (BJVFD) is a 100% volunteer fire department and was established in 1980. The 14 member department serves an area of over 130 square miles which includes the communities of Blackjack, Hearne, Franklin, Mumford, and Wheelock with a population around 2,000 residents. Our small rural department responds to over 155 calls for service each year.
