Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley

About this Organization

The Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley is a local nonprofit organization that focuses on child protection and missing person issues, working hand in hand with regional law enforcement agencies and family members and loved ones of the missing. Formed in 2003 as an oversight committee for the Brazos Valley Regional Amber Alert notification system, our programming has expanded to meet needs associated with missing children and personal incidents. Our multi-jurisdiction and multi-discipline Child Abduction Response Team (CART), the Brazos Valley Child Abduction Response Team (BVCART), became the 17th team certified by the United States Department of Justice in September 2011.

Our Vision Statement (what we seek to achieve) is "To provide for the missing and those who seek them through effective notification, response, education, and family services". Through generous support from citizens, charitable organizations, and local governmental funding we were able to hire our first employee and move into our current facility in October 2020. Since that time, we have partnered with local law enforcement on over 230 cases involving missing children and persons, helping to provide alerting assistance, raising public awareness, consulting on search efforts, and serving as a liaison with family members of the missing. We continue to provide education and training on best practices for alerting and response to local agencies and provide internet safety training to children and parents/caregivers/guardians through our partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
