The Y is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Guided by our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, the Y is dedicated to giving people of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity. Whether it be our Preschoolers starting their learning journey, a child learning to be safe in the water, a parent focusing on their health, or a senior making a friend; the YMCA of Central Texas is for all. Through our Strong Kids Campaign, the YMCA of Central Texas has provided over 75,000 scholarships a year to our community members so that all can participate in Y programs regardless of their inability to pay.

By introducing YMCA programming to the Brazos Valley, the YMCA of Central Texas promised to help meet these needs mentioned above. To do this, a Founders Group comprised of prominent community leaders was organized. This Founders Group has pledged to raise $300,000 (which will be matched by the YMCA of Central Texas) to cover the startup costs of establishing YMCA programs in the Brazos Valley. Hiring employees, finding a storefront site, purchasing supplies, insurance, and marketing materials will all require donations until the Brazos Valley YMCA program services are fully established and self-sustaining. In addition, the Founders Group will raise funds for the Annual Campaign Scholarship Fund. $600,000 will not cover all of the start-up costs involved with programming operations (local staffing, facility rent, administrative support, and so on). We hope to work with critical individuals, businesses, and foundations like yourselves to help us deliver the greatest programs to the Brazos Valley and support community members with their needs.
